I felt like when I first stepped into HEMA, when Helmut Smits’ website loaded. The straightforward design with something more to be expected in the background. You can say it’s dutch at very first sight. And Mr. Smits is dutch multidisciplinary artist. In his work there’s this witty aspect that makes simple things at least funny. For example his piece “The Dead Pixel in Google Earth” (above) really made me laugh and I have started to think how have google influenced our life.
